Obatzter traditionally contains animal rennet, which is derived from the stomach lining of calves. However, there are also versions of Obatzter that use microbial rennet, which is derived from fungi or bacteria. It is important to check the ingredients or ask the manufacturer to determine which type of rennet is used in a specific Obatzter product. **

Vegetarian rennet cultures are enzymes used in the cheese-making process that are derived from non-animal sources, making them suitable for vegetarians. These cultures help coagulate the milk, separating it into curds and whey, which is a crucial step in cheese production. Common sources of vegetarian rennet cultures include plants like thistle, fig leaves, or certain types of fungi. Using vegetarian rennet cultures allows cheese makers to produce cheese without using traditional animal-based rennet. **

No, butter is not made with rennet. Rennet is an enzyme used in the cheese-making process to coagulate milk and separate curds from whey. Butter, on the other hand, is made by churning cream until the fat molecules clump together to form butter. Rennet is not a necessary ingredient in the production of butter. **

Microbial rennet is an enzyme used in the cheese-making process that is derived from microorganisms such as bacteria or fungi. It is used to coagulate milk and separate it into curds and whey, a crucial step in cheese production. Microbial rennet is often used as an alternative to animal rennet, making it suitable for vegetarian and vegan cheese production. It is considered to be a more sustainable and ethical option for cheese-making. **

Rennet is an enzyme traditionally used in the production of cheese to coagulate the milk and separate the curds from the whey. It is typically derived from the stomach lining of young calves, making it non-vegetarian. However, there are vegetarian-friendly alternatives to rennet, such as microbial or plant-based rennet, which can be used in cheese production. Therefore, a vegetarian can consume cheese made with vegetarian-friendly rennet. **

Rennet can be purchased at specialty food stores, cheese-making supply stores, or online. It is available in liquid, powder, or tablet form. Some grocery stores may also carry rennet in the baking or dairy section. If you are unable to find rennet locally, there are many online retailers that sell it and can ship it directly to your home. **

Yes, microbial rennet substitute is considered purely vegetarian because it is produced using fermentation processes involving microorganisms, such as bacteria or fungi. Unlike animal-derived rennet, which is obtained from the stomach lining of calves, microbial rennet is a plant-based alternative that is suitable for vegetarians. It is commonly used in cheese-making as a coagulant to help curdle milk and form cheese curds. **

Yes, Milram Butterkäse does contain animal rennet. Rennet is an enzyme traditionally derived from the stomach lining of calves, lambs, or goats, and is used in the cheese-making process to coagulate the milk. Therefore, Milram Butterkäse, being a cheese product, would likely contain animal rennet unless specified otherwise as being made with a vegetarian or microbial rennet. **
